Fernet Liqueur
An herbaceous take on a classic amaro. Crafted in copper pot stills in Massachusetts, soft notes of clove and cardamom are complimented with hints of bittersweet fennel and celery seed. A spiced mint finish rounds off this smooth, warming liqueur.
Formerly known as Winter Amaro, Fernet is one of four limited edition seasonal Amari we made back in 2019. Of the four, this was the spirit that stood out from the group and hatched into a year-round spirit.
The first step to making Fernet is a vapor extraction of a variety of botanicals in the gin basket. After it’s distilled, we macerate flavor into the high proof spirit with a one and a half day soak. It’s finally proofed down with an aloe vera, peppermint, and speedwell tincture before it’s bottled and labeled.
We recommend sipping on this spirt neat, or using it as a cocktail modifier in the recipes below.
Where to find it
Purchase bottles through our online shop or look for it at one of the many liquor stores we partner with throughout Massachusetts. Orders placed through our online shop can be picked up anytime within regular business hours. Unfortunately we’re unable to ship spirits at this time.
Why the Pileated Woodpecker?
This large, loud, energetic woodpecker represents the strong, daring taste of Fernet. The Pileated Woodpecker makes its holes in trees to find carpenter ants, which is its preferred food. Our Fernet is made using 21 botanicals, many of which offer earthy, herbal notes, making it an appropriate mascot for this feisty forest bird.
