Mieleau is our second barrel-aged cordial, and the sister spirit to our previous Pommeau release. It all starts with local Massachusetts honey which we use to make mead. A portion of the mead is then distilled into honey brandy and blended back with the remainder of the mead to 25% abv before aging for 5 months in whiskey barrels. Mieleau leads with a wildflower aroma and sips with a subtle honey and vanilla sweetness which yields to a rich, buttery honey finish. Like the Pommeau, this one can be sipped neat or on the rocks, poured over ice cream, or even added to a glass of champagne with a lemon for a riff on the classic French 75 cocktail.
