Summer Cocktails

August 13, 2019

Summertime in Boston: Though it’s quick, it can bring some of the best, memorable experiences to us. Summer BBQs, beach trips, or a simple evening porch chill session. The warm sun, friends and family, good food and drinks.

Summer cocktails are some of our favorites. The warm weather brings a fun layer to our seasonal cocktail menu. Summer drinks are refreshing, crushable, pretty, all while showcasing our spirits. Below are a select few summer cocktails from this season’s bar menu. Enjoy!

Summer Rickey

The Summer Rickey is our play on the classic New England “Raspberry Lime Rickey”. Maybe you had one as a kid — but this one is boozy and better. The Summer Rickey brings a good balance of sweet and sour while the club soda gives it a nice, refreshing finish. The Rickey is a great option for any summer party.

• 2oz Short Path Distillery Summer Gin
• 3/4oz Lime
• 1oz Raspberry Syrup
• Club Soda

Add all ingredients except Club Soda to a shaker, add ice, and shake until chilled. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Top with club soda. Garnish with a lime and/or skewered raspberries.

Rum Runner

Summer and rum go hand in hand. Our take on the Rum Runner includes two of Rums and some of the most delicious summer flavors. Consider batching this one into a punch — it’s a great crowd pleaser.

• 1oz Short Path Distillery Rum
• 1oz Short Path Distillery Gold Rum
• 3/4oz Pineapple
• 1/4oz Orange
• 1/4oz Lime
• 2/3oz Simple Syrup

Add all ingredients to a shaker, add ice, and shake until chilled. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Garnish with a cherry.

Peach Fuzz

The Peach Fuzz straddles somewhere between a Whiskey Smash and an Old Fashioned. It’s boozy, fruity, with a touch of sweetness and a bitter finish. A summer sipper guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds.

• 1oz Short Path Distillery Whiskey (or Bourbon)
• 1/4oz Simple Syrup
• 1 Muddled Peach Slice
• 1 Lemon Wedge & 4 Mint Leaves
• 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Muddle the peach slice with simple syrup and Angostura bitters in a shaker. Add the Whiskey, lemon wedge, mint leaves, ice, and shake until chilled. Dirty dump into an empty rocks glass. Garnish with a skewered peach slice.
